Mudeford Wood Playgroup is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and is governed by a management committee.
The Committee is made up of volunteers who are elected onto the committee at the Annual General Meeting held in the summer of each year. The Committee abides by a constitution and meets regularly to oversee the administration of the playgroup.
The committee must have three officers, who are the chairperson, secretary and treasurer, and at least three, or at most nine, other committee members.
The Committee employs the staff for Playgroup and also Tiny Tots Parent and Toddler group and works alongside the Management Team and other staff to maintain the good practice needed to ensure the smooth running of the Playgroup.
The Committee maintains the funds of the playgroup, recruits new members of staff, pays the staff wages, manages admissions and arranges fund raising. It is also responsible for seeing that the Playgroup meets the national standards set by Ofsted and reviews all the Playgroup policies and procedures to ensure that all current legislation and practices are taken into account.
