Admission Procedures

It is our intention to make our playgroup genuinely accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.

Admissions – we are registered for a total of 40 children; (25 in Room 2 and 15 in Room 1) however, a limited number of places are kept open for the emergency intake of children.

All children from the age of 2 years old who are on the waiting list, regardless of race, culture or religion and including children with special needs are eligible for admission into Mudeford Wood Playgroup. Parents/carers can apply for admission and entry onto the waiting list at any time.

Admission forms are available from the Playgroup noticeboard outside Room 2 and can also be requested during any playgroup session (Monday to Friday 9.15am – 12.15pm). Once completed, the form should be returned to the Playroom Manager who will arrange for the child to be put on the waiting list.

Parents are then contacted two to three months before their child is due to start and are asked which sessions they would like to attend from those that are currently available. We try to be as flexible as we can when allocating sessions. However, pressure of numbers and the length of the waiting list sometimes means that the sessions available are limited, and it is helpful if our parents can be a little flexible too!

To maintain fairness and make sure there is enough room for everyone, we currently ask that one session in three and two sessions in five (when available) are afternoons.

Once sessions have been allocated parents will be given a starting date by the Administration Manager and asked to complete a registration form which is contained within the playgroup’s Welcome Pack. Completed forms should be returned to the Playroom Manager prior to the child’s first day at Playgroup.

Children may be offered additional sessions once they have settled and both the Playroom manager and parents feel this would be beneficial.
